About 13 million metric tons of jaggery are produced annually across 25 nations. Being one of the biggest growers of sugarcane worldwide, India is also the world’s largest producer of jaggery. Of these, about 60% of the jaggery produced worldwide comes from India. Every year, the nation produces over 10 million metric tons of jaggery. Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are the two Indian states that produce the most jaggery. With an average price of INR 3561.56 per quintal and an output of 11.47 lakh quintals, Karnataka made a significant contribution.
